2 of Tarlac’s 17 towns now free of COVID-19
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Two of Tarlac’s 17 towns and one city now have zero active COVID-19 cases, the provincial government reported on Saturday, November 6.
The provincial government said the towns of Pura and Ramos both have zero active cases while Anao, Camiling, San Jose, and San Clemente have a single case each.
Tarlac recorded 43 new cases, 63 recoveries and zero deaths on November 5. It has not issued a bulletin for November 6.
The provincial government said 38 of the new cases were “late reported cases” and have already recovered.
Tarlac City and Capas town have the most active cases at 19 each, followed by Gerona with 15 and Paniqui with 11.
The province has registered 18,052 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 17,178 have recovered while 769 died.
Article continues after this advertisementAs of November 3, some 302,543 Tarlac residents have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The number represents about 28.6 percent of the 1,052,419 target population.
Article continues after this advertisementSome 486,487 residents or 46.2 percent of the target have also received the initial dose of the vaccines.
The provincial government initially targeted 70 percent of its 1,503,456 total population, based on the 2020 census, for inoculation against the coronavirus disease. The number is expected to increase after students and minors aged 12 to 17 years have been allowed to be vaccinated.
