FEATURED STORIES

The city has recorded 12,490 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 11,845 have recovered, while 517 died.

According to the city government, the declining number of active and new COVID-19 cases resulted from its sustained vaccination campaign against the disease.

It said 177,526 or 54.8 percent of its initial 324,000 target population had been inoculated fully against COVID-19, and 238,147 had received their initial dose of the vaccines and are still waiting for their second dose.

The number of vaccinated residents was expected to exceed the target population after inmates at the Angeles District Jail and police stations and students were included in the vaccination drive.
