18,598 outbound, 16,419 inbound passengers logged in ports ahead of ‘Undas’
MANILA, Philippines — Ahead of the Undas or All Saints’ Day and All Souls Day, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) monitored thousands of passengers in all ports across the country on Sunday.
Based on PCG’s report, a total of 18,598 outbound passengers and 16,419 inbound passengers as of 12 p.m.
The PCG’s 2,296 deployed frontline personnel in 15 districts inspected 295 vessels and 381 motorbancas.
The PCG advised travelers to check existing ordinances of their local government of destination as documentary and testing requirements vary.
Travelers must secure a quick response (QR) code or S-PASS and prepare their COVID-19 vaccination cards, antigen test, or reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.
From October 29 to October 4, PCG’s districts, stations, and sub-stations were placed on heightened alert to control the volume of port passengers who will visit their families in the provinces.
According to the PCG, tourist destinations are expected to be swarmed by fully vaccinated local tourists as the government gradually relaxes restrictions due to declining COVID-19 cases.
