2 rape suspects fall in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––A former village official and another man, both charged with rape cases, were arrested during separate operations Sunday, Oct. 3, in this province.

Police said Angel Cabbab, 74, former barangay captain of Lucero in San Marcelino town, was arrested based on a warrant issued by Judge Gemma Theresa Hilario-Logronio of Regional Trial Court Branch 73 in Olongapo City.

Cabbab, who is on the list of most wanted persons in the province, went into hiding for two years after he allegedly raped a minor.

In Palauig town, Jerome Amog, 22, was arrested based on a warrant issued by Judge Maribel Mariano Beltran of the Regional Trial Court Branch 13 in the capital town of Iba. The police said Amog’s victim was also a minor.

No bail was recommended for both suspects.
