184 areas in Metro Manila under granular lockdown, says PNP
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 184 areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) were under granular lockdown, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported Thursday.
The 184 areas are located in 74 barangays in nine local government units across Metro Manila, the PNP data also said.
As of Wednesday, 71 of the 184 areas under granular lockdown are houses, four are residential building floors, 15 are residential buildings, 93 are streets, and one subdivision or village, it likewise showed.
A total of 399 police personnel and 560 force multipliers have been deployed around the NCR to ensure compliance to health standards set to fight the spread of COVID-19 and enforcement of the granular lockdowns, and for manning checkpoints, according to the PNP.

Article continues after this advertisementOn September 16, Metro Manila shifted to general community quarantine or GCQ Alert Level 4 to prevent COVID-19 transmission while opening the economy.
A GCQ Alert Level 4 includes the imposition of granular lockdowns that will restrict affected individuals from going out of their residence for at least 14 days.
Individuals permitted to enter and exit granular lockdown areas are only health workers, uniformed personnel enforcing the restrictions, returning or outbound overseas Filipino workers, and those with emergencies.
