Over 1.8M received COVID-19 vaccines in Cavite
LUCENA CITY––A total of 1,822,899 residents in Cavite province have been vaccinated as of Tuesday, Sept. 21, against COVID-19, the Provincial Information and Communication Affairs Department (PICAD Cavite) said on its Facebook page.
At least 609,470 residents had been fully vaccinated, while 1,213,429 had their first dose, the agency reported.
The economic frontliners topped the list of those fully vaccinated with 257,298, followed by senior citizens with 147,156, and persons with comorbidities 146,912.
The PICAD also reported that the economic frontliners had the most number of recipients with their first dose–490,449.
Cavite would need to inoculate at least 3,041,380 of its 4,344,829 population (as of the 2020 census) to achieve herd immunity.
As of Sept. 20, Cavite, which is under modified enhanced community quarantine, has logged 103,013 COVID-19 cases, 81,481 recoveries, and 2,349 deaths since the pandemic started in March last year.

Article continues after this advertisementThe Department of Health (DOH) in Calabarzon said Cavite had recorded 99 COVID-19 Delta variant cases as of Sept. 16.
The DOH-Calabarzon did not indicate the Delta variant patients who have recovered, died, or been admitted to medical facilities.
Last week, the Cavite police recorded 57,141 COVID-19 quarantine violators in different cities and municipalities in the province.
