Isko Moreno to run for president in 2022; formal announcement Sept 22

MANILA, Philippines — Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso will make a formal announcement on his presidential candidacy for the 2022 elections on Wednesday.
This was confirmed by Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) chief Julius Leonen in a message to INQUIRER.net. Leonen also confirmed that Moreno’s running mate would be online personality and physician Dr. Willie Ong.
No other details were made available as of this posting.
Talks of Moreno vying for the presidency next year have been going on for quite a while now. He has also ranked well in recent presidential surveys.
According to a Pulse Asia survey released July 13, Moreno was the top 2 choice to become the next highest leader of the country, trailing President Rodrido Duterte’s daughter, incumbent Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
