Farmer stabs dead 2 kids, is slain in Leyte town
CEBU CITY—A farmer, who stabbed dead his two step-children and wounded his live-in partner and his daughter, was killed by police when he tried to resist arrest Thursday in Barangay Barayong, Palo town, Leyte.
Guillermo Latore, 33, was rushed to the Leyte Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by a physician.
Recovered from the crime scene was a 19-inch bladed weapon locally known as “sundang.”
Lt. Col Joselito Villas, chief of the Palo Police Station, said they went after Latore when he killed almost all his family members.
When they found the suspect, the police ordered him to surrender.
But Latore ran towards the policemen, prompting them to shot him.
