OLONGAPO CITY––At least 1,578 more violators of health protocols were arrested in Central Luzon on Tuesday, Sept. 7, as authorities intensify their enforcement of regulations set by the national inter-agency task force.

In a report, the Police Regional Office said 924 were caught due to improper wearing and not wearing of face masks or face shields in public places. The others were warned for violating physical distancing protocols.

The PRO3 said they denied entry for at least 122 people into several areas for failing to present the necessary travel papers.

The regional police have been apprehending an average of at least 1,000 people daily due to these violations.

Except for Bataan province, which is under modified enhanced community quarantine, most local governments in Central Luzon are under the least stringent modified general community quarantine or general community quarantine with heightened restrictions.
