Active COVID-19 cases in Pampanga’s capital city climb to 1,600
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––The number of active COVID-19 cases in the City of San Fernando has reached 1,639, the highest among local governments in this province, local data showed on Sunday, Sept. 5.
The capital city recorded 91 new cases, 56 recoveries, and zero deaths on the same day.
Most of the city’s active cases were registered in Barangay Dolores with 186.
The other villages with high numbers of active cases are Sindalan (140), Bulaon (136), and Calulut (109).
San Fernando has registered 8,864 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 6,780 have recovered, while 245 have died.
Article continues after this advertisementAs of Sept. 2, the capital city has fully vaccinated 60,773, which comprise 25 percent of its target population against COVID-19.
Some 117,998 or 48.7 percent of eligible residents have also received their first doses of the vaccines.
