COVID-19 cases surpass 6,000 mark in Zambales

COVID-19 cases surpass 6,000 mark in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—Despite the existing stricter quarantine restrictions, the number of COVID-19 infections recorded in this province since last year has already reached 6,009 on Monday (Aug. 30)

Based on the latest data, 40 new cases were recorded on the same day, raising to 929 the province’s active cases in the province.

According to the tracker of the provincial health office, most of the new patients are unemployed and had no history of travel outside the province.

The same data showed that at least 4,893 virus-infected patients have already been cleared of the viral disease since the pandemic struck last year. It reflected a 74-percent recovery rate.

At least 10 more fatalities were also registered on Monday, pushing the province’s COVID-19 death toll to 187. INQ
