Angeles City logs 48 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Some 48 more residents of Angeles City were infected with COVID-19, bringing its active cases to 1,212, the city government disclosed on Tuesday, Aug. 24.
It also said three patients have died from COVID-19 complications, raising the total number of deaths since last year to 373. The latest fatalities were residents of Cutcut, Ninoy Aquino, and Sapangbato villages.
Angeles City has recorded a total of 8,961 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic struck last year. Of these, 7,377 have recovered, including the 46 patients who recovered from the disease on Tuesday.
Barangay Sto. Domingo, which borders the City of San Fernando, has the most active cases at 130. The village recorded 11 new cases on Tuesday.
Other villages with high numbers of active cases include Balibago (94), Pandan (91), and Cutcut (89).
Article continues after this advertisementDue to the growing number of COVID-19 infections, the city government started disinfection of city and village roads last week using a “misting truck” from the city engineer’s office.
