Travel restrictions in Oriental Mindoro extended until Aug. 31 to curb COVID-19 spread
CITY OF CALAPAN––Oriental Mindoro Gov. Humerlito Dolor extended the travel restrictions in the province until Aug. 31.
Executive Order 33, which restricts travel to stop the spread of COVID-19 and entry of the Delta variant into the province, was first implemented from Aug. 1 to 15 as hospital beds were nearing capacity.
But on Aug. 12, two Delta variant cases, both without a history of travel outside the province, were reported in Calapan and Bongabong town.
EO 33 provides that entry to the province would require an original negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test issued within 24 hours before travel and an original vaccination card.
The Safe, Swift, and Smart Pass (S-pass) remains mandatory in the province.
Mass gatherings like birthdays, anniversaries, and reunions, will be limited to 10 people for as long as the EO is in force.
