‘Yellow card’ can be proof of vaccination – Robredo
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Quarantine’s (BOQ) “yellow card” — or the international certificate of vaccination or prophylaxis — may be a good substitute for Filipinos needing proof of vaccination for their trips abroad, Vice President Leni Robredo said on Sunday.
But Robredo warned that applying for BOQ-issued cards would eventually overwhelm the agency, and lamented that they were not tapped to work alongside city governments since the start of the vaccine rollouts.
“Right now, applying for a yellow card might be doable because there aren’t a lot of Filipinos who need it yet,” she said in her weekly radio show.
“But the day will come when many would need it and bureaucracy would get tangled up,” she warned.
She called again for an internationally recognized system for identifying vaccinated individuals.
