Teenager to face raps for faking travel documents to enter Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY Charges will be filed against a 19-year-old who used fake documents to gain entry into Negros Occidental and two others who entered EB Magalona town without any S-PaSS (Safe, Swift, and Smart Passage) in violation of COVID-19 protocols, Mayor Marvin Malacon said.

The 19-year-old who allegedly submitted a fake Philippine Red Cross COVID-19 negative test result also used a certification that he is a resident of Barangay Alicante, EB Magalona, when he is in fact a resident of Cadiz City.

The 19-year-old will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 1132 or the “Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act,” and the executive order of Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson requiring persons entering the province to have negative swab test results, Malacon said.

Malacon said the town government is also filing charges against two persons who traveled from northern Negros and entered EB Magalona without any S-PaSS.

Lacson said he will leave the case of the 19-year-old to the Provincial Legal Office to act on.

“We take this as a very serious offense since it endangers the lives of others,” Lacson said.
