“Sa kasalukuyan, southwest monsoon pa rin po o habagat ‘yung nakakaapekto sa ating bansa, kaya’t‘ yung Northern Luzon area (Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands and the Ilocos regionay makakaranas po ng makulimlim na panahon, na may kalat kalat na pagulan at kidlat pagkulob,” said Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin.

Bulquerin said that Pagasa is also monitoring two tropical storms (TS) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) which are not expected to directly affect the country’s weather conditions.

TS “Huaning” was last spotted 980 kilometers (km) north northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, while TS “Mirinae,” was in 2,235 northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.

“Kumikilos po ito papalayo ng PAR, at wala pong direktang epekto saan mang bahagi ng ating bansa,” said Bulquerin.

(It is moving away from PAR, and has no direct effect in any part of our country.)

“Dahil po ‘yan sa lakas ng hangin ng habagat, kaya’t makakaranas po ng maalon hanggang sa napakaalon na sea condition diyan sa areas na ‘yan,” Bulquerin said.

(This is due to the southwest monsoon, so rough to very rough sea conditions will be experienced in these areas.)
