Olongapo City has 8 new COVID-19 patients

Olongapo City to subject returning residents to mandatory quarantine

OLONGAPO CITY––This city added 18 more COVID-19 cases to the growing list of infections, local health data showed on Thursday, Aug. 5.

The city’s COVID-19 task force tally shows that the number raised the active cases to 204 and the total infections to 3,035.

Five of those new patients are 68 to 97 years old.

The task force also recorded five recoveries on the same day, raising the number of patients cleared of the disease to 2,661.

The recovery rate slightly dropped to 87 percent this week from 88 percent last week.

The city’s COVID-19 death toll stood at 170 since no new fatalities related to the disease were logged. INQ
