MANILA, Philippines — More than 375,000 doses of US-made Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Monday night, the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 said.

Of the total of 375,570 government-procured doses, over 51,000 were delivered to Cebu City and 51,000 will be shipped to Davao City on Tuesday.

The shipment arrived amid the threat of the highly contagious COVID-19 Delta variant, which has been reported to have already been locally transmitted in the country.

The latest shipment of Pfizer vaccines is part of the 40 million doses the government procured from the US drug firm.
