Zambales to join nationwide ‘bike for peace and justice’ drive
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—This province will join the nationwide “Bike for Peace and Justice” campaign on Saturday, the Department of the Interior and Local Government in Zambales said.
The event seeks to call for peace and justice for all victims of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).
The DILG said the campaign would also call for justice for the death of former Far Eastern University football player Keith Absalon and his cousin Nolven in Masbate City.
The two died when an improvised explosive device was detonated along the road in Barangay Anas in Masbate while the cousins were biking with their family on June 6.
CPP and NPA leaders took “full responsibility” for the death of the Absalon cousins and expressed “deep remorse” for it.
