Illegal lumber worth P11,200 abandoned in Romblon town

CITY OF CALAPAN—Authorities seized early morning Wednesday (July 14) illegally cut lumber valued at P11,200 in Magdiwang town in Romblon province, said a report from Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa) police office.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, with police and Philippine Coast Guard personnel, conducted at 2:20 a.m. an anti-illegal logging operation and found the logs abandoned in Barangay Agutay.

Authorities confiscated 24 pieces of red lauan and five pieces of white lauan, with a total volume of 280 board feet and worth about P11,200.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
