Nueva Ecija to get 163 Wi-Fi spots from DICT
CABANATUAN CITY—At least 163 spots in 44 Nueva Ecija areas will be installed with Wi-Fi by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) beginning Monday (July 12).
DICT Secretary Gregorio Honasan II led the launch of the free WI-FI access in the province as the government establishes a digital highway for faster internet signals for business and education, especially since work and classes are done online amid the pandemic.
“One of our rights is access to information or access to data and it’s the obligation of the government to provide it to every citizen,” Honasan said during the occasion.
He said the DICT had established 10,064 Wi-Fi sites in various parts of the country since 2017.
In Nueva Ecija alone, the Wi-Fi spots will be put up in hospitals, universities, markets, town halls, and public libraries.
