Armed drug suspect busted in Laguna

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested an armed drug suspect who yielded P130,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Santa Rosa City in Laguna province before midnight on Saturday, a report said Sunday.

Police Colonel Serafin Petalio II, Laguna police chief, reported that anti-illegal drugs operatives busted Restituto Saban, 47, after he sold P10,000 worth of shabu to a police agent in Barangay Dila around 11:59 p.m.

Authorities seized three plastic sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams worth P130,000 in the street market.

Also confiscated from the suspect was an undocumented caliber .25 pistol with three bullets.

The police said big-time drug suppliers were supplying guns to some of their favored pushers for protection, aside from giving them free shabu for personal use as incentives.

The suspect is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and another another case for illegal possession of a firearm.
