Child dead on Edsa after risky mischief on bus
MANILA, Philippines—A child died after he was hit by the same bus he threw rocks on Edsa in Ortigas early on Thursday (July 8).
The bus was traversing the northbound lane of the Edsa bus carousel when the child allegedly threw rocks at the bus, which broke part of its windshield, the InterAgency Council for Traffic (i-ACT) said, citing witnesses.
The incident happened between the MRT Santolan and Ortigas stations shortly before 9 a.m.
According to i-ACT, the child was about to flee the area and jumped outside the carousel, a designated path for buses.
The child was unable to evade the bus, which was then slowing down, and slammed into its left side, i-ACT said.
