Police arrests 2 drug suspects in Taguig; P9 million worth of ‘shabu’ seized
MANILA, Philippines — Cops arrested two suspected drug pushers after they ran away when they were simply reminded to wear masks, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Tuesday, adding that P9 million worth of “shabu” or crystal meth were seized in the process.
PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar identified the suspects as Jemboy Pascual and Eskak Kamsa.
According to Taguig City Police Station 6, the policemen were conducting “Oplan Galugad” or the strict enforcement COVID-19 health guidelines, when they spotted the suspects who were not wearing face masks.
Once the cops simply reminded them to wear face masks, the suspects immediately ran away, prompting the policemen to chase them.
Once caught, the cops found out that the two men had run away because they were carrying 27 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 1.35 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P9,180,00.
The suspects also had with them P10,000 cash and a weighing scale.
