Tokyo infections continue upward trend with 317 new COVID-19 cases
TOKYO — Tokyo confirmed 317 new cases of infection with the novel coronavirus on Monday, up 81 from the same day a week earlier.
The daily tally in the capital was higher than the figure logged on the same day of the previous week for the ninth consecutive day.
According to the Tokyo metropolitan government, the number of seriously ill COVID-19 patients was 41, up four from Sunday.
The seven-day moving average of new cases in Tokyo was 489, a 24% increase from the previous seven-day period’s 391.9.
