Soldier nabbed for indiscriminate firing in Naga City

LEGAZPI CITY—A member of the Philippine Army was arrested for indiscriminate firing Monday in Naga City in Camarines Sur province.

Master Sergeant Tobias Bongon, Naga City police spokesperson, said Ernesto Lacrua Jr., 33, was drunk when he drew his gun and started firing in Barangay Concepcion Pequeña while attending a wake at 3:45 a.m.

Bongon said authorities responded after Ricardo Hubilla, 49, a resident of the said place, reported the incident.

Recovered were a caliber .38 gun, four live bullets, two empty shells, and a slug.

Lacrua is a resident of Barangay Binobong in Pili town and assigned at the Army’s 91st Division Reconnaissance Company.

He is now under the custody of the Naga City police for proper disposition.
