Man nabbed after trying to sneak ‘shabu’ into Zambales jail
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—A tricycle driver in the capital town of Iba was arrested Tuesday (June 22) after he allegedly tried to sneak “shabu” (crystal meth)” into the provincial jail using bread and cup noodles.
Col. Romano Cardiño, provincial police director, identified the suspect as Josef Caldejon, 37.
Cardiño said Caldejon was delivering the food to an inmate when the jail guards inspected the items and found nine sachets of suspected shabu inserted into some pieces of ensaymada and cup noodles.
The suspect immediately escaped after sensing that the contraband would be discovered.
He was later arrested in Barangay Amungan TODA terminal, Zone 1, also in Iba.
