Commodore Armando Balilo, PCG spokesperson, said the weeklong maritime security and law enforcement exercises from June 21 to June 27 would be held off the waters of Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
“It will also test PCG’s recently acquired ship-based and coastal monitoring and communications capabilities for search and rescue and law enforcement,” he added.
The maritime exercises will be participated by the BRP Gabriela Silang, BRP Tubbataha, BRP Capones and BRP Cape Engaño, as well as fast response boats from the 47 PCG stations and substations in the area. The Coast Guard Aviation Force will also join the training.
