5 drug suspects busted in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested five drug suspects here and seized over P239,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) on Friday and Saturday.

Police Leuitenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena City police chief,  identified the suspects as Rafael Sabinosa, Fernando Baez, John Jeremie Dollano, Paola Reyes and Alex Oracion Jr.

Sabinosa and Baez were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Ibabang Dupay at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities seized eight sachets of shabu worth an estimated P209,000. Police also found one improvised shotgun with a bullet from the suspects.

On Friday, police agents also busted Oracion in another drug sting in another part of the village at 6 p.m.

The suspect yielded five sachets of meth with a street value of P14,000.

Police arrested Dollano and Reyes in a buy-bust operation also in Ibabang Dupay around 1:30 p.m. Seized from them were  seven sachets of shabu worth around P15,000

Police tagged Sabinosa and Oracion as included in the drug watch list. Furthermore, Baez and Oracion had previous drug cases.

The suspects were detained and are facing formal complaints for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
