Blue Devils extend streak to 3 in E-League hoop

THE Stream Blue Devils padded their winning run to three with a 68-58 trashing of the Wipro Wildcats last Saturday in the 2011 Powerade E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

The Blue Devils have been on a rampage since starting the tournament with a 48-50 loss to the Lexmark Stallions. They improved their record to 3-1 (win-loss) to stay at the upper part of the standings.

Roderick Mangubat fired a game-high 22 points and added seven rebounds, four assists and one steal to lead the Blue Devils, who also got 17 and 14 points from Gilbeys Cabrera and Sylvester Millevo, respectively.

Raymond San Juan scored 20 points, John Paul Escudero had 13 for the Wildcats, who crashed to their third loss in five games.

In the other game, the Xlibris Publishers trounced the Executive Boutique Tarantulas, 62-47.

Sergs Go Bui paced the Publishers with 13 points, seven rebounds, two steals and one assist. Xlbris had 10 other players scoring at least two points as it nailed its second victory against the same number of defeats.

Andrew Hilvano tallied 18 points and Datuin Amino Jr. delivered 12 markers in a losing cause as the Tarantulas remained winless in four outings.  /EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
