Disaster management offices in 2 Negros Occidental cities closed for disinfection
BACOLOD CITY––The Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices (DRRMO) in the cities of Bago and Sipalay in Negros Occidental have been closed for disinfection starting Monday, June 14, after their personnel tested positive for COVID-19.
Sipalay Mayor Maria Gina Lizares said 14 DRRMO rescuers contracted the virus, endangering 17 other office personnel.
In Bago City, two DDRMO workers also tested positive for COVID-19, said Mayor Nicholas Yulo.
The Bago DRRMO will be closed for disinfection until June 16.
The Ma-ao Volunteer Rescue Unit will take over the DRRMO responsibilities for emergency purposes.
