100,000 more doses of Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine arrive in PH
MANILA, Philippines —A shipment of 100,000 doses of the Russian-made Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Friday night via a Qatar Airways flight, the National Task Force against COVID-19 said.
Vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. and Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Marat Pavlov welcomed the arrival of the vaccines, the biggest batch of Sputnik V so far delivered in the country.
The Philippines has so far received 180,000 doses of Sputnik V, including the latest shipment.
The first two batches composed of 15,000 doses each arrived on May 1 and May 12, and the third batch of 50,000 doses arrived on May 31.
All of these were procured by the government.
