1 of 2 boys swept away by flood found dead in sea of Calubian town, Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY – One of the two young boys swept away by a flash flood on Tuesday was found dead in the sea of Calubian town, Leyte on Wednesday, June 2.

Brando Salino, 7, and a resident of Barangay Padoga in Calubian was floating at sea when residents found him at around 4:45 p.m.

His younger brother Ruel, 2, remained missing.

The two boys were sleeping at around 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday when their house made of light materials was swept away by a flash flood due to heavy rains brought about by Tropical Storm Dante.

Their father, Dominador, survived.

Another resident of Calubian town, Joselita Montemor, was also found dead on Wednesday.

The woman was securing her pigs when she was swept by rampaging waters while crossing a creek.
