PH has so far administered 5.18 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines – Galvez
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has so far administered 5.18 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 3.97 million individuals in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the country’s vaccine manager, said Monday.
According to Galvez, the country has administered 5,180,721 doses of COVID-19 vaccines. Of this number, 3,974,350 are first doses and 1,206,371 are second doses.
Galvez said the country was able to breach the five million mark even before May ended, pointing out that the doses administered this month tripled compared to the two previous months.
“We already breached the five million mark last Friday. Meaning, even before May has ended, we have breached the five million mark,” Galvez said, speaking partly in Filipino.
“Our input has tripled since March, April when we only administered one million in 40 days. Now we have tripled it. Even before the end of May, we have already vaccinated three million,” he added.
