‘LPA to bring rains today’
BRING umbrellas and rain gear as a low pressure area in Mindanao is forecast to bring rains in the Visayas and Mindanao areas today.
A cold front has already affected the Visayas and Northeastern Mindanao, said Boy Artiaga, weather forecaster.
The low pressure area was sighted at 730 kms east of Mindanao.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) is still monitoring this but it was not clear yet if the disturbance would develop into a tropical depression.
If it does, it will be named Ambo and will be the first tropical depression to hit the country in 2012.
Artiaga said weather conditions could bring scattered rains in the Visayas and Mindanao, especially in the eastern part of the country for the next 24 hours. /Correspondent Jhunnex Napallacan
