House probe of transgender killing sought

Deputy Speaker Bernadette Herrera wants a congressional investigation of the gruesome rape-slay of transgender man Ebeng Mayor. Herrera urged Speaker Lord Allan Velasco to support the investigation, which she said would also include the violence and hate crimes committed against members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community. Mayor was found dead at an empty lot in Barangay Bagong Silangan in Quezon City after going missing for three days. Police have arrested three suspects.
