Free rides for medical front-liners to continue
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said it will continue to provide free rides to healthcare workers, medical front-liners, essential workers and authorized persons outside of residence despite easing quarantine restrictions in Metro Manila starting May 15.
“We want to ease your burden. What you will save you can use to buy food and other essential items for your family and loved ones,” Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said on Friday.
With limited public transportation during the quarantine, the DOTr had so far fielded free bus rides for health workers in more than 20 routes.
