Tabal to compete in SM-2-SM Run
SOUTHWESTERN University’s (SWU) ace runner Mary Joy Tabal makes her return to the running scene when she competes in the 21-kilometer category of the SM-2-SM Run 2 this Sunday starting at the SM City Cebu.
It’s been two months since Tabal competed in a race. She’s been out due to an Illutibial Band Syndrome (ITBS) in her left knee.
She said this Sunday’s race will evaluate if her injury has healed.
“It’s getting better but I can still feel a bit of pain,” Tabal said. “I can manage to run in my pace.”
Tabal also announced that her trainer John Philip Duenas will also join the 21k race.
Tabal settled for second place in last year’s edition of the running event. Kenyan Susan Jemutai topped the 21k race.
