CEBU CITY—Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade on Wednesday (May 6) inaugurated the new taxiway and apron of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) to accommodate more flights.

According to MCIA acting general manager Glen Napuli, the new taxiway—a path for aircraft—will increase aircraft movement on the tarmac from 35 to 40 planes per hour.

“That is a huge help especially during peak hours. We can accommodate more flights,” he said.
