64-year-old Olongapo woman dies of COVID-19; fatalities now at 65
OLONGAPO CITY–The city’s death toll due to the coronavirus disease had swelled to 65 on Friday, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said.
The latest fatality is a 64-year-old woman tagged as patient 1309 from Barangay (village) New Ilalim who was hypertensive and diabetic.
She contracted the virus on April 17 and was confined at a private hospital where she died.
Earlier on Thursday, a 92-year-old man also died of COVID-19.
Paulino said 11 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Friday. The patients are aged 17-81 years old.
Olongapo now has a total 1,473 COVID-19 patients. At least 1,258 of them have healed from the disease. JOANNA ROSE AGLIBOT
