Bolo-wielding man kills father, wounds sister in Cagayan town
TUGUEGARAO CITY—A 48-year-old man attacked his 70-year-old father with a bolo in a fit of rage during an altercation in Solana town, Cagayan province on Monday (April 26) night, police said.
Capt. Samuel Lopez, Solana police chief, identified the suspect as Joel Abogado of Barangay Basi East.
Initial investigation showed that the suspect hacked and stabbed the victim, his father Pedro, during confrontation over a farm dispute.
Pedro suffered multiple wounds.
The suspect also allegedly attacked his sister, Annaliza Abogado-Saquing, 40, who was seriously wounded.
Pedro was declared dead on arrival at the St. Paul Hospital in the city while Annaliza is still being treated.
