Jueteng whistleblower turned presidential appointee Sandra Cam faces arrest over the 2019 murder of the vice mayor of her hometown Batuan, Masbate.

Aside from Cam, named in the arrest warrant were her son Marco Martin Cam, Batuan’s sitting Vice Mayor Nelson Cambaya, and four others identified as Junel Gomez, Bradford Solis, Juanito de Luna and Rigor dela Cruz.

Cam has yet to reply to the Inquirer’s calls and messages, but Cambaya, who was elected board member and became vice mayor by succession, denied any involvement in the murder.

“It pains me so much to hear about the arrest warrant because I know I am innocent. I was here [in Batuan] when that happened,” Cambaya said in a phone interview on Tuesday.
