Manila LGU delivers food boxes to relocated residents in Cavite, Bulacan

MANILA, Philippines — The local government of Manila has delivered food boxes to former residents of the city who were relocated to Cavite and Bulacan.

According to the Manila Public Information Office (PIO), a total of 2,850 food boxes were delivered by personnel of the city government’s Department of Public Services (DPS) under the LGU’s COVID-19 Food Security Program (FSP).

In a statement, the Manila PIO on Monday noted that 800 food boxes were delivered to Naic, Cavite on April 21, 1,400 food boxes were delivered to Pandi, Bulacan on April 23, and 650 food boxes were given to beneficiaries in Norzagaray, Bulacan on April 25.

Each box contains three kilos of rice, 16 canned goods, and eight sachets of coffee.

The COVID-19 Food Security Program launched in February delivers monthly food boxes to almost 700,000 families in 896 barangays in Manila, according to the Manila PIO.

“Its delivery for Manila residents this month—its third straight month of implementation—was completed on April 20. Preparations are now underway for the FSP deliveries in May,” the Manila PIO added.
