Zambales COVID-19 daily cases reach new high with 66 new infections

SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES –– For the second time in a row, this province has logged a daily high record of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections with 66 new cases Monday, April 12, officials said.

The latest tally said the new cases topped the 59 reported on Sunday.

The third highest daily tally of 48 cases had been registered in August last year.

Among the new cases are 48 call center agents and six customer service assistants of a private company in Iba, the capital town of Zambales, said Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, in an advisory.

As of Monday, a total of 1,457 COVID-19 infections was recorded in the province since last year. Of these, 258 are active cases, 1,169 are recoveries, and 29 are fatalities.
