Series of police operations in Batangas nets 242 suspects, P2.3M in drugs
LUCENA CITY—Police in Batangas seized over P2.3 million in drugs in a series of operations in March that also led to the arrest of 242 suspects, officials said on Tuesday (April 6).
Col. Rex Arvin Malimban, Batangas police chief, said in a report on April 6 that anti-drug operatives conducted a series of buy-bust operations in March.
At least 347 grams of crystal meth, or shabu, and 161 grams of dried marijuana leaves were seized during the operations, Malimban said. The value of the drugs was estimated at P2.3 million.
Police also arrested 300 for illegal gambling, 160 individuals on wanted lists and 25 found with unlicensed guns.
At least 35 unlicensed firearms had been seized.
Malimban said the accomplishment was possible with the active involvement of civilians who are helping in the anti-crime campaign.
