Police raid house of KMU leader in Laguna, say guns, bombs, bullets found
LUCENA CITY—The Duterte administration’s crackdown on leftist noncombatant groups continued on Tuesday (March 30) during a raid on the house of a labor leader in Laguna province which police said yielded guns, bullets and explosives.
Brig. Gen. Felipe Natividad said in a report that policemen were serving a search warrant, issued by an unidentified judge, on the residence of Marites Santos David, aka Teacher Laly, in a subdivision in Sta. Rosa City.
Police tagged David as a communist rebel.
The report said the raiding team found three Armalite rifles, two .45 caliber pistols, two Carbines, bullets and magazines, 14 landmines and bomb-making components inside David’s house.
The police report also said found in the house were a laptop, communist documents and streamers for rallies and election paraphernalia for different party-list groups and politicians.
The report did not state the time of the raid. David was also not around when policemen barged into David’s house.

Article continues after this advertisementPolice tagged David as an alleged member of Alyansa ng Manggagawa sa Enklabo and secretary committee of Pamantik-Kilusang Mayo Uno, a leftist labor group.
David was also described as a labor organizer in the Calabarzon region and member of Revolutionary Council Trade Unions. Police are preparing a criminal complaint against David.
