Active COVID-19 cases in Cabanatuan City up by 600 percent
CABANATUAN CITY – The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city has increased by about 600 percent in a span of two weeks, officials said on Sunday.
Mayor Myca Elizabeth Vergara said the city had only 11 active infections on March 10 but these ballooned to 78 on Sunday.
She said the figure could still grow once the results of swab tests done on some city hall workers are released.
At least 24 city hall employees had tested positive for COVID-19, including the mayor’s driver and two members of her staff.
This prompted Vergara to go on quarantine while waiting for the results of her swab test. INQ
