Clark immigration thwarts illegal recruitment

Immigration authorities at Clark International Airport have intercepted two Filipino women, believed to be victims of illegal recruitment, who tried to board an Emirates Airlines flight to the United Arab Emirates. Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said the two women presented themselves as overseas Filipino workers, but immigration officers noted discrepancies in their documents, which were later found to be fakes. Upon questioning, the victims admitted that they received their employment contract from an agent they met online a day before their flight, the immigration official said.
