Top Southern Leyte village exec faces charges after buy-bust arrest
TACLOBAN CITY—The head of the Association of Barangay Council (ABC) in Southern Leyte province is facing criminal charges after his arrest at a buy-bust operation last Monday (March 1).
Romeo Saturninas, 57, incumbent president of the ABC of Hinunangan town, Southern Leyte did not resist arrest.
Seized from him were meth worth P82,000.
Rogelette Urgel, information officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), said the arrest of Saturninas was a “victory” in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Urgel said the village official is now detained at the municipal police station. He was charged with possession and selling drugs.
