Some SC justices on quarantine; court reschedules terror law debates
MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court has rescheduled the 4th day of oral arguments on the petitions against the Anti-Terrorism Act as some of the justices are currently on self-quarantine.
“Considering that some of the Justices are on self-quarantine as a health precaution against Covid-19, you are hereby informed per instruction of the Honorable Supreme Court, of the suspension of the oral arguments scheduled on Feb. 23, 2021,” read the announcement from the en banc Clerk of Court, Atty. Court sources said one of the justices tested positive for the virus. The magistrate, according to a source has immediately informed his colleagues about his test.
Although subsequent tests showed that the justice has already recovered from the virus, the other justices opted to go on self-quarantine.
No details however were given as to when the justice took the test that yielded a positive result and when was the subsequent test done.
